Repeat Performance..............

Last year I posted this and it's time to roll it back out for all to see. Some users have a real problem with behaviour, might have something to do with lack of respect.
I guess they never learned it at home. Well guys lets try again. Also some have the mistaken notion that mods are paid employees. Hello guys, we are volunteers that give up our game time to keep chat nice for everyone. So what I'm getting at is please try to help us a bit by not feeding the trolls, they thrive on attention.
Try to set a good example by following the room rules. I love The Village and all of you that reside there, lets all keep it a happy place.

The world makes us put up walls. We all do it, in different ways. I have found that the Kongregate and especially the Village is an accepting enough community that if you take down some walls you'll find some of that respect.

Meanness and disrespect are walls. We put them up, we think, to protect ourselves. If we don't care about what others think, says the disrespect, we won't get hurt when they don't like and don't accept. But it's a vicious cycle.

There are a lot of mean people in the world. There are people who will hold grudges and make rude comments and try to ruin your day. The way to counter that isn't putting up walls. Find somewhere that seems encouraging and let a few walls down. Talk to a few people. Make some friends. It really is that easy. Find some people who will give you support. Who will give handshakes or highfives or hugs instead of insults. Give the same types of things back. That way, when those icky troll-filled moments happen, whether on the Internet, reality, or in your head, you have people, jokes and memories to fall back on. It works a lot better than setting up walls.

Over time, people come to respect even those they used to consider "TERRIBLE HORRIBLE TROLLS", "MEAN PEOPLE", "IDIOTS" etc. Let yourself (hobbies, interests, 1337 skills or others) come through and help encourage others.

If you take down your walls, you might just find a sliver of awesomesauce to bring into your heart. You can find something really special in the individuals and the groups. I found awesomesauce in the Village. Can you find some there too?

(Credits and thanks to a ton of Villagers past and present. Advice taken from experience - results may vary.)
